Rev limited coils on the Honda keep it from being a monster. Briggs Vanguards make great big block motors for a cart. 23 HP is a good place to start.

That is the MAIN reason. If you decide to modify the motor, there are a lot more performance parts available for the Vanguard motors.

I personally went with the honda GX630 and I am happy with it. The motor has plenty of power, and with a simple governor spring mod ( which you will want to do on any big block you get no matter the brand) it gives me plenty of top end. I like the reliability and quality of a Honda. Yes it would be nice if there where some aftermarket goodies for the engine, but I'm sure even that will be developed by someone eventually.

Kawasaki is also a good engine, but much more stuff is available for the vanguard than anything else. Of course the vanguard is an Asian designed engine just like the rest of them lol and very proven. Hard to say on the new honda, their old engine was behind the pack and this one is somewhat different. It will be very difficult to mod in a few major ways so I doubt anyone will bother with aftermarket. Honda typically builds very good engines, so it depends on your purpose. If I were spending cash and wanted stock engine one thing I would have is efi, having been around efi utv it is very nice thing to have. For any mods the vanguard is the ticket and kaw and kohlers can also be rodded.

No, it's as quit as stock, because it is baffled. If you want it loud you would have to cut out the baffle, but I personally want it quiet.
I have an extra one for a Gx630 that would fit on a club car or other build for sale brand new
