31 hp vanguard in a txt?
Looking for info on putting a big vanguard in a txt. I am a good fabricator and a machinist. I figure someone has done this or tried and can give me an idea how bad it will be. Is it worth it??//

Re: 31 hp vanguard in a txt?
I sat one down in a TXT once on an engine plate made for 16-23hp and it would not clear the seat. So its doable with more lift in the rear and maybe lowering the cradle in the front to gain some clearence. These engines are a
little lazy without some Al Hodge parts. |

Re: 31 hp vanguard in a txt?
I'm interested in this too. Been doing some measurements with my TXT as well.
Looks like the height of the engine is the main issue. You will have to use the low compact style air cleaner version which saves 8+ inches in height. Still goin to have to fab a lowered craddle and lift. |
