Default setup

Getting ready to start my first bike swap (sv650 motor into a ez go) and could use a little information on a few things. Could someone that has successfully completed a bike motor swap post some pics of your clutch pedal setup and how you rigged it and how you rigged a push pull throttle cables to a pedal also and if you sis a cable shifter how you rigged that I have an Idea that in theory should work great I cant really explain it cause I don't really know how to but I just want to see how other people have done theirs
Thanks, Colby

What has worked well for one may not work at all for another. But seeing what others have done can be helpful with your own build.

When it comes to fabrication how you mount the engine, type of cart/swingarm used and overall install has a lot to do with what type setup will work for cables, shifters, pedals and such can be installed and work effectively.

There are a lot of examples in the "Bike & ATV Engine Swap" section. It will take a little looking and you'll have to do a lot of scrolling thru pages of info and pictures but I'm sure you can find something that will help you with your build.

Good luck with the build. It can be frustrating building something such as your suggesting and actually getting it completed. With fabrication I've found that even the simplest thing may not work and hold up the first time and maybe not even the second or third time.

I went with "hanging" pedals and used hydrolic's for both brakes and clutch.

Could you post some pics or links to them?

Not the best picture. Purchased from http://www.desertkarts.com/productCat0.ivnu Don't buy the master or slave cylinders from them, buck up and use Willwood Buy the way, if your bored to death sometime you can see the whole build thread (in this section) "Yamahauler". Good luck on your build

I have floor mounted clutch and brake pedals that were hand-fabbed. I've got a post in the ATV swap forum you can check out for pics. I'm reusing the clutch perch and part of the lever. For brakes I'm using both the original front and rear master cylinders but you could easily use a single mc with a manual proportional valve as other members have before.

I'm using rod ends and tube for the shift linkage. I have experience with push pull cables for shifting and there's some limitations to be considered that will effect function and durability. For strength you need to run the 10-32 or larger and because of that you need to run the straightest routing possible with large radius bends or none at all. It may have high shifting effort and binding that inhibits return to center, etc... Especially in more extreme environmental conditions like dust/mud/water.
