1986 G1 engine/rearend swap help
I am new to the GC world and I have recently acquired my G1. The stock engine needed a head gasket but ran. My plans are to use a 1984 Honda TRX200 engine with shaft drive tranny with reverse. It is a Honda automatic with hi-lo-reverse tranny. My question is , What rear ends have the differential snout perpendicular to the axles, like a car rear end? That way I can hook up the shaft drive that will line up with that yolk. Much like a rear wheel drive car. Thanks for any help and guidance. It will be much appreciated.

Re: 1986 G1 engine/rearend swap help
A lot of the older models have the setup your looking for. Just make sure its a gas engine not a sparky. The gear ratios are different, you will go from a street cruizer to a rock crawler.
your thinking right to use a rear differential from a golf cart. The 200 rear-end will be too narrow. |
