Re: Front brakes?
I thought about taking geo metro rear drums and spindles and putting them on the front, they fit 10 inch tims and require some fabbing, higher level diy
Atv front end swap, medium level diy Driver mod, free except in emergency, then you just bail |

Re: Front brakes?
I've also been thinking about finding a salvage yard with a geo metro and rob the brake parts.
I've not found that I absolutely need front brakes, but having them would be so much better. I do have the 25hp engine and figure that once I remove the governor I will pick up some speed and probably will need front brakes then. The easiest perhaps would be a kit such as the Jakes LT with brakes. But, with a little fab work you could convert an ATV suspension with brakes and the cart would probably handle much better too. |

Re: Front brakes?
Any idea if the jakes brake kit has to be used with a long travel kit? Could it be used with a double a arm lift is the question.

Re: Front brakes?
I think Jakes says it's only for the Long Travel, but I'd call them and check. Don't take my word for it.

Re: Front brakes?
I've called them three times. No one can give me a straight answer for some reason. I'm hoping to find some who has some experience with it. I hate to take a $400 gamble, but it may come to that.

Re: Front brakes?
I always figured I would go atv front if I got that far. You get a better front and free brakes, what is not to like. Only issue is with a yamaha and its gearbox, its better to run a rack. There are some posts about converting them. (as far as getting brakes DIY, because you need a better front if you need front brakes! lol)

Re: Front brakes?
I would go with the Jakes and modify to fit my double a arm.

Re: Front brakes?
That's what I'm thinking. Have you used the kit on any of your builds?
