Club car/kawasaki bayou reworked
Started to do some upgrades to the cart, kind of lost interest in the cart due to the steering giving me a hard time, here is a link to the original build..
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/lifte...ome-input.html First I wanted to wire it all up (key switch at the dash, a starter button, indicator lights for reverse & neutral, choke and reverse switch) was getting tired off lifting the seat and pulling the rip cord, oh and a battery.. here is a couple pics.. |

Re: Club car/kawasaki bayou reworked
next I wanted to address the front end, my fabbed up front end looked ugly so I figured I would put a hitch on the front to break it up a little.. I also painted the rims gloss black, and yep the tires too..

I added a little bling, I also threw this matt on, but I will probably throw the original back on, and I put on some new seat covers.. and now onto the body work..

Re: Club car/kawasaki bayou reworked
So when I started the body work the front cowl had a couple long deep scratches in it and a few small ones here and there, I used spot putty to fill, I really suck at patching, I fill and then sand it away, I repeat this 4/5 times before I get it right, the same with drywall and plaster , this is my Achilles heel, and I get into a lot of things.. now as for the body, this thing had gouges, scratches heavy and light, indents, grind marks, holes, and 1 crack about 1 1/2" long. I wanted to buy a new used one, found a couple on craigslist but I never got any replies.. needless to say I kept pounding away at it..

Re: Club car/kawasaki bayou reworked
deciding on a color was a hard decision, after a lot of body work & primer, looked at every picture in the golf cart pic section, I decided that the orange primer looked pretty good so I went with a Burnt Orange, pulled out the old spray gun to clean it and I broke it taking it apart,.. Harbor freight here I come, I picked up cheap spray gun and a quart of paint and quart of clear and pray I can do a half way decent job.. after putting the body on for a test look, wife comes out and says, "that's fugly, I should of painted it florescent green...".... thanks babe.. still need to wet sand and throw on a couple more clear coats.. I do see a couple flaws in my body work, but all in all it came out a lot better than I expected....

I think you've done a heck of job with the body and the paint looks good IMO.

That's a very nice paint job...... I thought it was almost a gold. But, having a sunburst orange bike, I like it!
I'm still learning body work and it's not as easy as it looks. I haven't had much time to work on the cart but do have the front end about ready too install. |
