Yamaha 125 breeze
I have a yamaha 125 breeze automatic 4 wheeler that I would like to put the engine and rear end on my ezgo. Question is, do you think the 125 cc is enough hp for the ezgo. I know the ezgo weighs alot more than the 4 wheeler does. I know this is a project that is probably out of my league but would like to try it. I don't want to start this if the engine is underpowered.

Re: Yamaha 125 breeze
Most gas carts are 290/350 CC. I think the little 4 cycle
125 would be short on power for a cart. |

Re: Yamaha 125 breeze
Carts are about 600lb stock. Take the drivetrain out and there is not that much left. I'd say if you kept it light and maybe used skinnier tires (like ATV fronts) for less rolling resistance it should work not that much slower (in acceleration) than the quad did to start with, but its not going to be a tire spinning machine either. Maybe roughly equal to two large people riding that quad? Depends on what you want....if you have the junk sitting there and want something to ride around then do it, you will learn cool new stuff, maybe you can even put the quad front on it. If you want a cart that performs better with more power, then its not going to please you. Having gears would be interesting though. Quad motors make more HP per cc than lawn or GC engines do, but not that much more it can't make more power than stock carts do, plus it will have less torque even if it has the HP...but still more fun than sitting in a lawn chair.

The little Yami breeze was anemic in the quad, you would probably be happier looking for a larger motor. If your dead set on a quad motor, think about a Polaris. Just my 2 cents.
