250 sx motor into cart help
Ok let me try here I previously posted on the yamaha board and hopefully I can get some more help here to.
Ok my project cart really hit a brick wall. Got the 250sx three wheeler motor mounted in the cart and got everything running good. The problem lies in the stock rear end of the g14 I am not sure how it really works and don`t know why the cart won't go. I added some pics to show you guys what I have done and maybe someone can give me some advice on what to do and why this thing is a turtle. Also the lever on top of the rear what is this, what is it for any help would be awesome... |

Re: 250 sx motor into cart help
Looks like a start/ gen belt and a go cart primary for a start.....That will never work, it won't ride high enough in the secondary....

Re: 250 sx motor into cart help
The only thing I see is to do with that motor is to make the most out of the gearing, and that means a new axle and a sprocket with a chain.

Re: 250 sx motor into cart help
Your trying to run your secondary with just a pully and a v-belt. You will have to either run a chain and sprocket drive to the rear axle or figure a way to use a full convertor setup, might have to throw a jack shaft into the mix. What you have there just plain won't work. The rear "pully" is actually a veriable ratio .

Re: 250 sx motor into cart help
Just a thought, do you have the shift arm for the rear axle? It don't look like it's on the forward reverse shaft, or maybe I'm just blind.

Re: 250 sx motor into cart help
I am trying to do something similar. I am grafting the cart to 4 wheeler with crossmembers- A cart mounted on a 4 wheeler. It will be at least geared correctly.
