Question Disc brakes on jackshaft?

Hi, new here. I just bought my first cart, 99 Yamaha gas. no engine, bad shape for $200. Going to put MC engine in it, Looking for bike now. After seeing posts here on rpm, road speed and dics brakes I was thinking a jackshaft chain to chain, could use any gear to get road speed and would be easy to mount rotors on. And I could have hydraulic disc cheep and not the $800 cable disc I see for carts. Has anyone tried this?
What do you think??? thanks

Will the chain be jack shaft to differential?
If not your breaks won't work through the cvt
pulleys.

A good hydraulic 4 wheel disc brake set up can cost nearly that much $765 (and worth every penny in my opinion) but cable brakes are 2 wheel and run about $300. I just didn't want the misinformation going any further.

Good Luck with your project

Thanks scottb, Yes now I think about stopping before speed! Must be my age,When I was younger I would make it go and think about stopping when I needed to stop
