Real MPH numbers
How fast is your cart? I want to start my build but not till I have every thing planed in my head! I would like to gear the cart to run 20-30 mph in lower gears, but when a kid passes me on their 660 Rapter, I want to grab a gear or two and go get them.
So, how fast are you going? what sprockets, rear and tire size, RPM. Thought I had it till I bought the bike and 6th gear ratio is 6.4 to 1 sucks! Thats two under drives to deal with. 6.4 @ trans, and 5.75 @ rear. |

Re: Real MPH numbers
I've had mine to 115 MPH that's where I decided that was fast enough for me not the cart, I don't know how fast it will go. As far as sprockets I had to go with several before I found the right combination for Drag Racing to launch without bogging, I dropped to a 13 in the front and went to a 60 in the back with a 23 inch tall 11 inch wide tire. I can pull out on the pavement, mat the gas, and light the tires without dumping the clutch, for Drag Racing I have to warm up the slicks to get bite and still spin around 10 to 15feet. The street tires I have are alot of fun, spin tires through 1st, 2nd and 3rd. This is a 1000CC engine.

Re: Real MPH numbers
I did the numbers for my VFR powered cart on 21" tires, and a 54 tooth rear with the stock front and it worked out to 86 MPH. The wife was not amused!

Re: Real MPH numbers
LOL, your using a jackshaft? do you have a pic? Any trouble taking off with those gears? My cart is going to be a limo cart, was thinking about to much gear with all that weight using the small M.C. clutch.

Now the find the real rearend ratio. I say 5.75 imputshaft turns to 1 axle turn would be 5.75 ratio, some have said that would only be 1/2 the ratio?? |

Re: Real MPH numbers
I'm not sure on the ratios but I know you can buy gears for an ezgo gas rear end to make the rear end ratio 6 to 1 I'm not sure if that helps you......
