600cc Yamaha Kart Build Thread
Hey guys,
bought this project a little less then a week ago half way started, it was pretty sketchy and i decided to redo pretty much everything. heres what i got so far. yamaha golfkart (no idea on year or model) kawasaki fourwheeler donating its parts ninja 600cc engine so here's my pile of parts to work from.... SO first thing up is to get the kart to a rolling chasis. I decided to start with the front end. the guy had mounted the four wheeler to the front end but up under neath. it was also kinda sketchy tacked on there so i chopped it all off. then chopped it in half and welded each side onto the outside of the main chasis of the kart so now the suspension is tucked in more and extended the front wheels out a way so it should make the kart a lot more stable. shows how far out the front wheels stick... things gonna be messy if i get into any mud at all. gonna axe this rear end. and use this |

gonna solid mount the motor to the chasis now instead of the swing arm, here it is in roughly the spot its gonna go.
built a rear swing arm so i can mount the fourwheeler rear end. heres kind of an idea of what it should look like. |

Re: 600cc Yamaha Kart Build Thread
got some more work done tonight with some more help from senior snax hahaha.
boxed in the rear diff on the top and bottom which should make its significantly stronger, still might add some more just for fun used a massive 3/4 inch bolt for the swing arm mount and drilled and pin the bolt. Not to shabby for a 200 dollar tig welder :) latheing out the bushing for the swing arm outta some super high density plastic so left a lip on it to so it has a nice wear surface to. |

nice but my suggestion would be to keep the stock rearend, it will handle the power. main reason id keep it is so you will still have reverse and its already mounted. all you will need is a sprocket for the rearend shaft and a jackshaft and a bearing for support. but thats just my 2 pennies!! awesome build and the cart is a yamaha g9 around a 90 model.
