Default CVT CLUTCH line up and offset???

GSXR 600 into an ezgo. I have decided to go the MACSBOOST way with a cvt setup... using a jack shaft because my wife and kids will not be able to do the manual clutch shifting all the time and if they did, I am sure they would burn up the M/C clutch in no time.

I will be running a 17T sprocket on the M/C and 17T on the jackshaft to get a 1:1. PROBLEM IS I HAD installed the high speed gears and may have to take them out?... unless of course I drop to a 14 tooth on the M/C engine and maybe a 20T on the jackshaft? Not sure with all that stuff... going to be trial and error I guess?

This is my question:

What is the stock measurement to set the primary and secondary clutch apart from each other? Center to Center? Does it differ due to different belts (G1, G2)?

Secondly, how do I set the offset of the primary clutch? Is there a tool used to set the offset like polaris has for their 4wheelers?

The belt can change the length between, the offset stays the same. Check the offset from the fixed sheaves, I don't know what an ezgo is it depends on the clutches used. The primary will have to run an rpm its set up for. You can find out what the different gears in the MC are and figure the rpm plus rpm of powerband it runs. I mean 1:1 in the MC trans might be 5th gear or something to rpm of engine. Most sled clutches you want to keep under 10K and usually 8K, a stock cart clutch shifts at 3500rpm. Once you shift out the rpm goes higher of course.

THX for the info. I have a hard time wrapping my head around all this stuff. I did talk to MACSBOOST who did a setup like this and he is recommending I go 1:1 with the M/C sprocket to jackshaft sprocket cause I have 25 inch tires and that I put the low gears back in the diff cause the high speed gears coupled with the tall tires may just not work well at all?... wish I didnt have to pull the axle off, break it apart again.... lot of work to do that!!!

I think I am goin to call MAC again and ask him to measure his setup (center of primary to center of secondary)use the same belt as he did and hope to save on the trial and error and hopefully get it real close from the jump.

25s and stock gears are way into the 40s with lawn engines with rev kits, a lot of people put gears in to kill rpm for road riding not just to go faster. 40+ with stock gears is max rpm on a lawn engine maybe 6K, actually some get 45 with 22 tires. But I don't know what your main use of it will be to say if gears are good or not. With lawn engine you lose bottom end hill climbing and such, if you do that stuff. Of course a MC engine can run twice the rpm.

What gear do they run with a sprocket on the trans? A CVT usually at max shift is .9 overdrive ratio. A Yamaha trans is ~13:1 and with the overdrive around 11:1 total gear at full shift, top speed, for stock clutches, plus your tire. There has to be more posts about it here.

thx.... but looks like I am going to scratch that whole CVT thing. I got the parts in and to make it work with a jackshaft, I need to push the engine all the way to one side to line things up and with my swing arm design and the control arms, I do not have the room. Looks like its going to be a clutch with manual gear shift 6 speed.

Anyone need an EZGO transaxle clutch and a Polaris primary clutch ... both for 300.
