Default would you want this cart?

has a Can Am 500 CC snow mobile engine.
Has a power band so no shifting....

claims 50 MPH and I don't doubt it.

I have a chance to get this cart. Would you want it and how much would it be worth?
Thanks

DoorKicker, it's up to YOU, what you want and what you plan to use it for. If it's for a campground, don't think they'd like the noise. That's a cool car, but if I was looking for a killer car...Rifter's bike engine car, or a BigBlocked car. Many members build them and "The time is perfect" for a bargin! As for the price, what's he asking and is it in your budget? The for sale/wanted section will give you some idea whats out there and has some great buy's. I would rather a member buy from a member then take a chance on craigslist, but the area does matter. Heck if you want a Road King, I've got Wilson for sale...for the right price Good luck on purchasing your new toy!

Looks to me like the fun would if someone else owned it and let you drive it, only to rev to speed and back off, rev to speed and back off.
To loud for any neighborhood or campground cruz'in.
I'm betting the noise would get old fast, but that's just me.

The loud engine is definetly a concern for me too.

As far as price, the owner wants to trade even for my Suzuki Samurai. I am asking $4500 for my Sami but got more than that in it, I am sure he has more in his cart too.

May have to pass

Sell the Sami outright, buy you a cart you want and pocket the extra cash!

I'm with Crash on that. The cart isn't gonna bring anywhere near $4500...IMHO. Unless you have special needs, the two stroke is going to be an expensive PITA.
However, on the bright side, a Rotax 503 will have available all the engine hard parts you'll ever need. Maybe not so much for sled clutch parts.
The engines are common in fat ultralight aircraft. I've got a Challenger II with a 503 DCDI. They are good engines, but not as good a a good motorcycle or Briggs big block 4 stroke. Aircraft builders keep using them in light aircraft for one reason...they are lightweight. If anyone comes up with a dependable 4 stroke that makes about 50 HP and weights about 100 lbs, ready to hang (and affordable), the Rotax 503 will be phased out. New complete 503s ceased production recently. Long assemblies are still being supplied.

Unless the Sammie has to go for some other reason; keep it.

Can't say I'm a fan of the high strung setup on that cart.
Cool toy though.

I'd only go for that if I still lived out in the Western Desert (Nevada), where you could take it out to the dunes and other wide open places where people go really fast on noisey machines. I couldn't see it working out down here for us on the Gulf Coast, and yes, the noise would suck after the first few thrilling runs.
