Default GIXXER 600 Radiator questions

On the Gixxer 600 (Suzuki GSXR 600) what direction is the water flow?

Water pump is near the bottom of the engine. Does the water pump push or pull the water ?

I need to know ASAP to route my radiator hoses.

Almost all cooling systems fill the radiator from the top to expel air
through the fill 'burp' over flow bottle.

On my motor, it's on the bottom left of the engine (Water pump). I hooked up that hose to the bottom of the radiator (after market).

This is how i did it.

The radiator is behind the motor, with the hoses facing forward.

I hope this helps you out.

yes thx, I bought some 7/8 inch ID silicone heater hose, will that work ? The hose I bought seems really soft though. I may need to get a different type?

I actually had to buy 1" and 1/2" ID hose because i used a mid 90's honda civic dual core radiator. The guy i bought it from machined custom reducers so i could use the smaller i.d. hoses. The hoses are just heater hoses i bought from an O'reilys auto parts store. Hope that helps, let me know if you need more info or pics.

K, thanks.

I will need help with the electric fuel pump stuff. I bought a walbro fuel pump and was wondering if it requires a return to the fuel tank which is mounted higher than what the fuel pump will be.

AND, I suppose I will need a pressure regulator to make sure I have the correct fuel pressure to the fuel line?

I don't think so fritster. I used the stock fuel pump in a custom keg tank i made and the fuel tank sits higher than the motor. I also have a vented cap on the tank without any return lines. I'v had no problems with this set up. I hope this helps you out.

Oh, i believe you need about 43 psi on the pump.

thx for your help djf!

So no return line, vented cap and 43 psi on the fuel pump.

ALSO, what type of oil do I put in the rear transaxle?

I just used Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90. I know it's supposed to take 30W, but that's hard to find. The Mobile One worked good for me.

thx for ur fast responses,

I am trying get my ducks in a row to start wrapping this up. Lots to do like extending the wire harnesses, brake lines, fuel lines, shift/clutch/gas cables, pedals, etc.... but in about a month I think I will finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

Been a 2 year project. Built this rig frame up .... every inch of it... very long process.
