Default GSXR 600 fuel pump HELP???

HELP with fuel pump. GIXXER 600 in my cart.

I need to buy and INLINE electric fuel pump that pumps 45 psi?

There are lots of pumps on ebay, and they advertise as "MINIMUM FLOW AT OUTPUT 32 GPH".

Will this work? Do I have to put a pressure regulator? (I have one).

If not, please tell me what I have to buy?

Early on, I bought a walbro kit on ebay, but its an IN TANK pump, and I am not going that route.

Does anyone know if the GSXR 600 needs a return line? Can i just use an electric fuel pump, with a regulator and set it to 43PSI, with no return line and it will run okay?

Late GSXR600s don't have a return line. The pressure regulator is built into the fuel pump assembly.
If the throttle body assembly has a fuel pressure regulator attached to the RH side of a rail above the intake horns...it requires a return line. If there is only one fuel line with a quick disconnect going into the throttle body assembly, no return line is used.
A Suzuki fuel pump assembly can be dismantled and the pump removed from the "upside-down" mount and the pump motor unit could be fabbed to hang from the top. They look complicated when assembled, but while the pump motor isn't a service item, it can be separated and used as a pump only. It must be used inside the fuel tank since the fuel cools it. It'll work in any position. A good bit of the pump assembly is fuel guage sender.
Almost any GM external fuel pump designed for a fuel injected GM car will produce around 40-45 lbs and would work. There are plenty aftermarket fuel pumps that will work.
An external fuel pump for a carbureted engine won't work due to typical 7 lbs of pressure, albeit some with enormous fuel volume capacity.
My GM LT4 operates at 43 lbs. That application is typical of all LT1, LT4, '93-'96 Camaro/Firebird, Impala (SS/Caprice), Corvette with LT4, Buick V8 with port injection. Probably typical of most other port injection (8 injectors) GM cars too.
Another external pump that will work, but might be hard to find is early Suzuki Hayabusa 1300's had external fuel pumps. No other Suz (AFAIK) had external fuel pumps.
Another idea would be an aftermarket "in tank" replacement fuel pump for the above mentioned GM products. They attach to a 3/8" steel pipe and hang there. Very easy to install in any tank. You might need a fuel pressure regulator with a single line system.
They are safe. Much more so than carbureted engines no matter the location of the fuel pump.
I'd highly recommend a roll-over cut off switch. If you are using a GSXR600 donor, there's a rollover switch mounted on the frame that's compatible with any electric fuel pump. And, using it will give you the 10 second "start" prime on the pump. If the engine doesn't start, the Suz ECM will stop the pump.

One more thing to consider is that most aftermarket replacement "in-tank" fuel pumps would probably last a long time even if used outside the tank. Might not, but they aren't especially expensive.
It's gotta be a "fuel injection" pump, but...? It might be worth trying. If it fails, the engine stops...won't hurt anything else.
Keep in mind that 45 lbs of fuel pressure requires good quality fittings and hose...in particular if using an external pump...something like AN fuel lines and fittings would be nice. But they'll cost more than the fuel pump. That's one reason most injector pumps are mounted inside the fuel tank. A fuel pump leak won't start a fire inside the fuel tank.
Fuel injected cars and motorcycles use steel and high temp neoprene coated plastic lines for fuel and chassis lines. Fuel injection system pressure will damage ordinary flexible fuel lines.

WOW! lot of good info THX!
This is where I am at:

I got an inline EFI fuel pump from summit racing, adjustable form 30 to 70 psi.
I do have a return port on the top of the tank.
I also got an adjustable fuel regulator with a RETURN PORT located on the bottom to return any excess fuel to the tank.

I will install the regulator right after the EFI in line fuel pump and filter.
I will set the regulator to 43psi.
I will run a return line from the reg. return port to the fuel tank's return port.

I got some expensive 1/4 inch ID braided fuel flex lines from Pegasus racing, and will use hose clamps to secure to fittings.

It will be a try and see approach and surely hope it works.

IMHO, that setup will work without issues.
Might want to temp in a fuel pressure guage and verify the reg settings.

OKAY,

I dont think its a fuel pump problem.
I do NOT have the OEM pump. I ran an INLINE pump with a fuel pressure regulator set to 43.5 psi.

The engine runs fine right after start up and can rev and pull like a bat outta hell for about 2 minutes. As soon as it warms up ... it bogs down at 5k like its starving for fuel.

It may be the injectors that are dirty sticky and are not functioning properly when the engines warms up? This engine sat up for 4 years. It starts and idles perfectly when cold or warm. BUT WHEN WARM WILL NOT REV PAST 5 K UNDER LOAD. It does rev without problems in neutral.

Another problem is I HATE THE SWING ARM SUSPENSION! The engine is mounted in the swing arm so MOST OF THE WEIGHT is carried on the rear tires, making the cart bounce a lot on the tires. The tires I have are stockers off an ATV and are really soft. Maybe I need hard wide tires? Seems like it is top heavy too. I already have 1.5 inch wheel spacers on it and I think I will change to 3 inch wheel spacers to step out the stance a little. I wish I had built it a foot wider!
