Default forward reverse

600 gixxer in my buggy.

EZGO gas transaxle.
How can I rig up the forward and reverse using a switch in the dash instead of the handle?

Right now I have the single cable with a handle and DONT LIKE IT because I do not have the stock handle and brackets, I had to fab my own and really would like to rig it up with a switch instead.

Anyone ever used an electric push pull solenoid to control the transaxle lever?

Is there a system I can buy that is cable with electric switch combo?

I dont know if will work for this application, but I used to use GM door lock actuators for door poppers when I shaved door handles. They do have a very strong push and pull. Might could pick one up from a junk yard cheap and try it.

thx, any specific gm model? and u think the push pull range is long enough? I think it would have to be around a 2 inch move.

We used the ones off of full size trucks, but didnt stick with any one in particular. As far as the length of movement, if its not long enough move closer to the pivot point.

I bought a Pringel up/down electric shifter kit (off Ebay) to shift Yamahahauler, they kill the ignition so you can shift WOT with no clutch. Very cool , but not cheap (new 750.00/I got it for 360.00 with shipping), decided to go manual shift, wasn't shure if it would alow to shift to nuetral. Now if you could find one of the cylinders (I think it was a 1 1/8 throw in each direction) it could do the job and that would be another great peice to your build. Good luck!

U thinking like me smallblock! Do u know if removing the governor on the transaxle includes removing a gear? I had to pull the high speed gears out and put the OEM ones back in becuase the cart i geared to high. PROBLEM: when I dug up my old gears I have 3 of them, the ring gear, the small one that drives the ring gear and a 3rd one that I do not know where it goes! I do recall removing the governor, maybe that was part of it?

I've been looking at the pingel shifter, that thing is nice. The only problem I see using it for f/r it that you will need it to do 3 positions. F/n/r. Now im thinking (I know, its dangerous) that something like a electric motor something like a power window motor.
