Looking at this Craigslist Motor
What do you guys think of this motor I found on Craigslist (I didn't buy it yet)
http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/an...345905659.html It's from a 2007 or later Polaris FST 750 IQ Snowmobile It's missing parts and would probably take $500 to $1000 to get running depending on internal condition. Now I know you are thinking that's a lot for a Twin Cylinder Four Stroke 750cc motor, but now hear this: - The motor uses a turbo, not a mod, polaris designed it that way (note the motor is manufactured by Weber) - The motor sitting stock puts out 140 HP +, people have done dyno tests to confirm this. - You can get the ecu reflashed, as well as a better intercooler to have the engine produce a whopping 191 HP (dyno test) |

I would snag that thing up in a heartbeat!
People love those for RZR & Rhino conversions so if nothing else you could turn around and sell it for big money... |

Re: Looking at this Craigslist Motor
Do you think it would be worth it to complete the motor first then sell.

Re: Looking at this Craigslist Motor
The guy has emailed me and said that he would include the turbo and pulley cover from another FST 750 for an extra $35, bringing the total to $120.
I am going to possibly go pick this motor up today. If the internals are good, then I should be able to complete this motor for about $500 since he is including the turbo. |

Re: Looking at this Craigslist Motor
He had trouble removing the turbo from the one engine, so he just gave me both engines for $120.
What a deal! |

Re: Looking at this Craigslist Motor
I am most likely going to go through the motor and use the parts to make one good engine.
Then I will most likely sell the good motor, maybe to someone on this forum looking for a never been done engine swap? And seeking a CVT drive system were the engine produces 140 HP! |

Re: Looking at this Craigslist Motor
You stole those! Nice deal, but like you said...a little more coin to get em going. I'd bet you could make half your money by selling the one your not using, just gotta be patient about it. Summer will come around again. We all get nuts during spring fever...thats when you need to sell!!!
