Default EZ Go with Suzuki King Quad Chassis and Motor. The Build Begins!!!

Hello Everyone,

Been looking around here for a little while and I have finally decided to post and say Hello!!!!

I am starting my custom build of a Electric EZ Go and Suzuki King Quad 300.

I was able to pick the cart up for free from a farmers junk pile and the chassis and motor was only $300.00. Nice think is it came with everything except the plastics.

So far I have stripped the cart to a bare frame and we have chopped the quad in half so we can see what we need to do to beef it up and hang it under the kart. These are nice frames to work with on the quads. Independent suspension makes it very easy to pull the motor if you need to.

I will be posting some pics in the near future as we move along with the build.

I am a trapper in Ontario Canada and I wanted to build something to get me around in the bush, on the lakes when frozen etc. and have lot's of storage.

Looking forward to this project.. We hope to have it ready by the end of December if we can :)

Thanks all for your future suggestions and answers to the many questions I know I will be asking :)

Yep Yep... Posting Pics.. Here are a couple for ya all... Pic of where the cart was sitting, the quad frame, and then the cart stripped and the front and back halves just sitting where there are closely going to belong. We are going to chop the steering off the quad still. Just nice to see things coming back together and starting to visualize what we need to do.... Got lot's of fun plans for this build.....

Not leaving the handle bars on no... We just put it up there the other night to start to get a feel of where we are going to need to do some chopping.. Got some 1x2 tube ordered for bracing and looking for a little welder to tack things up before I bring it to work to weld it properly.

This weekend we hope to have things tacked up to see how it is all going to work.. I am also making a bench to mount my quad motor on so I can fire it up outside of the cart and make sure everything is all good. If we need to extend wires or cables I would rather do it outside of the frame then on the floor!

More updates and pics to come......

More work done this weekend.. Got the back end tacked in and squared up. Also stripped the front and cut some notches and set it into the cart frame. Just gotta tack the front end and then we can start to brace it all up.. Steering from the Cart is going to work perfectly with the quad front end. I just have to make a small plate to mount the steering tie rods on and away we go :) Making a engine stand for the quad motor so we can fire it up out of the cart and make sure everything is running good.

Question on the steering.. Is the stock rack on these EZ Go carts ok to use?

Thanks everyone for any input :)
