125cc Honda Motorcycle Cloan into EZGO Electric
Hi, I am Kevin and new to the site. This site it great and has a lot of great information. I started this project in the fix and repair area but it seems to me it belongs here. I bought my 1984 marathon from a garage sale for $150.00 several years ago. I fixed it replaced a couple batteries repaired things here and there until a majority of the batteries went bad. I then converted it to gas with a 206cc Briggs and Stratton I had laying around. It worked but didn't go very good and had no reverse. So I pulled the engine and bought a 125cc Honda cloan engine on ebay. I have learned a lot from the members posts but I didn't see anybody using the original electric rear end most people seem to find a rear end with reverse. I have looked on craigslist and have not been able to find anything that I can afford on my budget. So here are some pics of the project.

Re: 125cc Honda Motorcycle Cloan into EZGO Electric
This is what I got done today. I forgot to order a gas tank so I made a bracket for a Honda CT70 fuel tank I had laying around so I could fire it up. It runs good but I still need to make throttle linkage, Shift linkage, and weld the muffler on, as well as move the carburetor lower so the seat wont rub on it.

With all that extra room I would have hid the gas tank. Never seen an engine setup like that, good thinking. Will the shaft on your pinion have support when you gas it?

I will put the motor cover with the front bearing on the pinion before I drive it. I hope it holds up. I put the gas tank up high because the carb is up high and I don't have a fuel pump. I just wanted to make sure it runs before I proceed any further.

Today I moved the carburetor to the back, finished the exhaust, finished the wiring and put in a kill switch, I also changed the gas tank. I took it for a ride but its geared like a tractor. so I will have to work on gearing next.
