Re: Club car with trx 300 engine and rearend need help
I haven't hooked up the brakes on mine yet, so i'm not sure. Does the pads or shoes look ok? How does the cable look, is the slack in it, could it be adjusted more?

The shoes were new they are wearing really quick didn't know if my drum is no good (has some pitting) or if the cart is to heavy for it every time I readjust the cable it will brake alright never enough to lock them up for few minutes than I go to having barely any brakes

those models like to eat brakes to begin with. I'd try to sand or machine the drum. They do make a heavy duty aftermarket pad.

I'm gonna have to buy a new drum and those heavy duty pads I just got a new phone and lost the pics of the build sucks I started to look into front disk brakes but they are $400 hopefully I won't have to go that route

Hey there, My guess is the front end is where you want to spend your money. Even if the rear brakes were stout enough to lock and hold every time. it does little to actually stop you. When you stop, the weight is transferred toward the front of the cart. I'd look at scavenging some front disc brakes from an old quad. That would work worlds better. |
