Value of unfinished project
Because of circumstances beyond control. I must sell my unfinished project. I'm not sure of its value. I would like to tap ur experience and expertise. The details are as follows. It's a early ezgo marathon body on a lengthened honda 450 Forman 4wd frame. It was engineered to allow the body to be unbolted from the frame for easy component access. The body is finished in black monsta liner. The frame is finished, painted with the body attached and the motor, drive shafts stearing is installed. What's left is electrics, fuel, brake lines (to aftermarket disc brake conversion. It also includes nice supertrapp exhaust. Highlift coil overs. Plus an extra motor and enough spare part to probably build another project. (I had 2 four wheelers a 2000 and 2001. Both running. Ever piece has been sandblasted and painted. Some help on pricing this project would be much appreciated. Once again finishing this project is no longer an option. But don't want to just give it away. Many hours and a lot of money. Hard to walk away this close to being finished but have no choice.

Re: Value of unfinished project
Anything not running is low value, if you could temp wire it to run that would help you get something out of it. Only certain people will buy a project, though you are in the right place lol.

Re: Value of unfinished project
I agree with ur assessment. But I'm afraid it would take more than a temp wire to get the atv motor to start. I can do a compression and even a leak down test on the motor by using the back up pull start. And as I said I have two of everything. Ie motor, wiring harness,Cdi and all the sensors. As far as driving it. That would involve all the wiring, plumbing the brakes(I have two sets of steel braid lines and new pads). I've got the upholstery. The shift linkage has been built and fitted. Many hours invested. It took nearly a year to get to this stage. This is a well thought out, well engineered, detail oriented project. I know it's not as valuable as it would be finished. I guess I'm looking for an individual with the ability to see that all the hard work ( hours of sandblasting , welding, fab work painting and assembly) has value. Just one of the atvs I used as a donor was valued at 3 grand. I guess I'm looking for a number to start with. It would be a shame to just mothball this rig so close to being done

I hear you, I sure do, just saying it is a hard thing to do. Maybe you can PM someone like smallblock450 or someone that does the builds; might know someone interested or give you a ballpark on it.

Re: Value of unfinished project
As a started unfinished project, very little value. Your best bet would be to put it on ebay and do a auction. Someone may be looking to complete it or someone may want just the parts to complete their own project......... in this case the value truly is whatever someone will pay.
Sorry but there really is no way to assign a value to it in it's current condition. |

Re: Value of unfinished project
man your close. The wireing is not that hard to do. I marked all my wire as I removed them, then had to relocated cdi, computer, etc. Slapped a battery in it and fired it up. Did a test run with a hand throttle.
You can always throw it out there "BEST OFFER, ALL OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED" then if you don't like the price you don't have to sell. If someone calls and offers $1800, tell them you just turned down $2200. 2 bike motors, and misc. parts? Marathon on a 75% build? Before I started my build I had to tell myself, that I knew I'd never get my money back. I'm about 95% complete on my build and someone tried really hard to buy mine other night. I've seen a few on CraigsList go for $4500 complete. If it's anyway to get a little more time on it and complete it, that would help alot. |
