I'm starting on a camo paint job for my golf truck.... I call it Baby Bull as its a 2005 Toro 4200 Workman gas golf course maintenance truck..
I call the camo pattern after our little 5 acre ranch in the mountains WPR.

Got the seat body done today just need to clear coat tomorrow with a satin Krylon clear. I don't like using flat paint so I use satin paint and matte clear or satin so this time I used satin. Pictures come out looking different because of lighting all is matched except the nose and I may re do it beacuse I like the way all the other stuff is coming out. Cage this weekend!

Took some pics of the front suspension and engine. This A arm suspension in front has inboard springs and a sway bar so ride is great but a easy lift is out as the only way in the front would be a spindle lift and I think I'm the only one trying to build one of these sleds.

I can make it faster if I want by just changing the governor since it has 31 hp already.... but it does weight almost 1900 lbs!

that pattern is killer looking, I wish I had the talent and patience to pull a design like that off.

Jeff its soooo easy..... In this case I used 3-4 branches cut of our pine trees. Rattle can painted the body parts dark hunter green...... let dry about 20-30 mins then wiped down with a clean red auto rag and a air hose to buff off any dry paint. Its been 90 here so it drys fast.... You can wait 1-2 hours if you like if its cooler than 80 degrees. BTW I hate using flat paints as they come out chalky. I use semi-gloss, satin or even gloss because I will clear everything in a matte or satin finish after finished. Here is the dark coat and the army green coats done.

Then put the branch over the part and fog painted right thru and around the branch with a light army green.... Turn the branch different ways so you do not see it repeated also just use different parts of the same branch. I'll take pics of the "coated branches" later. Then when I had finished that color while still leaving enough dark green showing I buff/ air hose it again. I then do another "lay job" and used a beige to bring in more light....!

You can do it with any plant but unique plant types will work best. Maple or Oak leaves work too. I have used palm fronds to do the same effect! Screw up just start over (I will re-do the nose because I like the way the body came out better.

We started my front cage but the clays basket did not show up so we will have to finish it maybe next week. In the time I have I will repaint anything I want then clear it.... all with rattle can Krylon and Rustoleum. I may use auto motive clear on it since I have time because it can be much thicker layer then many coats of rattle can clear... we will see.

Yes golf guys I know my top is not flat to allow the rain to drain like what it is designed to do. Thats fine with me as any rain will come off the front and I do not plan to do much work at the property when raining. Besides the top raked will give me more downforce at high speed!
While I did get a Club Car and EZGO top for free they were about 4" narrower and shorter so I used the Big Top ($40.00) from a Yamaha to give us more shade.

Here is the first "Camo" job I did on something.... Here is a pic of it several years ago and if you look close you can see the cracks...

Its our '72 Early Bronco I painted in 1995. I used Zolatone tan paint then added cracks to it. Zolatone was a paint that is used in both automotive and building construction. They started lining Airstream trailers and trunks of cars.

Most call it "trunk paint" but its not the off brand junk out of spray cans they sell at auto stores. It is used with professional spray guns. It was used to coat truck beds in the 50's and 60's as well because it is scratch and chip resistant. This is why I wanted to paint the Bronco with it. Our truck is not a trailer queen and we use it 4 wheeling in some ruff places.

This paint has texture and I wanted something that looked like rock so I painted our Bronco with a tan to simulate sandstone out here and then added cracks to it with a camel hair brush then airbrushed to give dimension to the cracks.

It was painted in 1995 so it needs refreshed again. I have painted several Jeeps and Broncos with it. With a nickname of Bronco Barney what else would I drive but the BedRock Bronco....

Any body else wanting to rattle can something (garage fridge... etc) I like Krylon paint because the spray nozzles are better than Rustoleum's nozzles...IMO. But on this I had to use Rustoleum for the highlights because they did not have the colors I wanted in Krylon.
