Reasonable Touch Up Paint?
I have a red '16 EZGO Valor (guessing it's what they call flame red) and want to touch up a couple chips in the paint. From what I can find it looks like the factory paint pens are about $40 and Amazon was over $50 for that color. Is there a better source or brand for this stuff out there?

Re: Reasonable Touch Up Paint?
if they aren't very big you could try to get as close as you can to an automobile factory color and get one of the pens from Walmart. we used them all the time working on the road doing rework at customers. there are several different kinds. The ones with the pen tip on one and the brush on the other end worked best for me. and best of all they are cheap. I think we would get them for around $6 or so each.

I'm with BigShow. Pens at the parts store are cheap. If you can get close enough? Then buff with that "miracle" wax on tv?

As a follow up - my local dealer called me back before I went to the store. They had called the factory and they gave them the paint code.
Turns out it's plain old Chrysler Red (R4) so I got a perfect match at the auto parts store and it was on sale! |

Lucky day.
And a dealer cared enough to return that call. Wow. |

Thanks, yes, they said R4 but PR4 is what I picked up. They also said if I wanted to get some mixed up I could go to Sherwin Williams and give them code GB-81837. I didn't go that route as it was just a few chips. |

I would stay away from S&W not really a good brand. Go with BASE or Axalta (dupont)
