How much sanding
This was 1st pass with 220 grit and electric sander. Do you guys get it all the same color or would this be good to move on to the 400-600 grit? Im wanting to paint it black.

Not sure on the paint yet. I believe its best i dont have any. I wanted to get this prepping out of the way, the right way. If i had paint i probably would be tempted to start spraying. Lol

I DA'd mine to start and smooth out some imperfections from an old paint job. If your squirting gloss black especially, I would block it with 220 or 280 and water. Unless you have a power board, machine sanding will not level the surface, and black will show it off very well.

Gloss black will show every imperfection. If you want it to look good you will need to put several coats of primer on and block sand smooth! I block sand wet with 400. Your sand paper will last longer if you do it wet.
