Paint recommendations for marathon

Pretty new to all of this but would like to redo the paint on my 89 marathon. Looks like somewhere along the line someone painted it green over the original paint job. It's now flaking off and basically looks bad. Doubtful I will tear it down, but most likely just tape it up. Any help?

sand it and use an enamel paint , the body is metal
you can get the nose peace with lights or with out

i would go down to metal and use a good primer
but if you are just going to tape it i'd just sand it and paint it

If you are going to paint any of the plastic you should apply adhesion promoter to the plastic first.

I've had good luck with Fusion Krylon for plastic.
