Default Painting the roof and seat supports

Hey all, I am looking to paint my Club Car DS roof and seat supports black instead of the standard aluminum. Can anyone give me some advice on prep to complete and type of paint to use? Is it as simple as going to get paint cans and go at it or is there more involved?

As for the supports, the best would be to have them powder coated. If you don't want to spend the money to do that, first make sure they're CLEAN the scuff them with light sand paper, clean again then use an etching primer. As for paint, the options are limitless, but definitely etching primer first.

Now for the roof, if yours is that oily plastic that most are made from I started a thread
Asking about this and got mixed replies from people. I'm still not 100% sure how I'm gonna do mine yet, but I think I'm gonna go the light sandblast, adhesion promoter then spray with bed liner route.
Here is the thread.

Anyone Paint, Vinyl Wrap or Line-X Their Plastic Canopy??
