automotive paint on plastic TXT
I want to paint my TXT the same color as one of my vehicles. Does the type of paint really matter or is the secret in the primer? Not wanting a show car job with many layers and clear coated. Just a basic paint job as I'm sure it will be subjected to grand kids crawling all over it. I have a friend that's going to paint it but he's never done a plastic body before. Thanks for your input...

Re: automotive paint on plastic TXT
Prep, promoter, and primer and prep is key to any paint.
Automotive paint works great. I would very highly recommend clear coat though if you dont want the finish to dull in a year. I painted this one with automotive paint. Black base coat with blue-green flip pearl in the first few layers of clear. Then a few layers of regular clear on top of that. |
