Question What do you recommend on painting diamond plate?

I want to paint the diamond plate on my G9, I need to get this ready for hunting season, the diamond plate is just way too shiny for the woods.
Does anyone have any ideas how I should go about doing this?
I thought about acid cleaning it and then spray it using the fusion paint.
By etching it, it should clean it good enough for the paint not to peel right??

Use etching primer on the clean bare aluminum, then spray with any paint.

If it's aluminum, use "zinc chromate". This is a fantastic primer for alum. Many boat dealers use it on the lower units of the motors when they rebuild them. It's a really durable coating. Just be aware. It's used in very open spaces.

USE PLENTY OF VENTILATION!

Why not camo it with latex and you could always go back?

Isn't the fusion paint for plastic?

Typically you can treat aluminum just like steel when prepping and painting. You can either take it and have it bead blasted to etch it or you can do as the Newguy suggested and use a self etching primer first then paint with whatever you like, just make sure you're materials are compatible.

I have to butt in, I know it is yours to do with what you want but those panels in your pics are nice and in MHO should not be etched or blasted,

Hey Dooms I am in no way trying to be a smart a$$ here but I was just kind of going with the assumption he wanted to paint it, that is why I suggested those two options for prep. What is you're thoughts on prepping aluminum, maybe you have something way cool I have never heard of.Like I said not being a wise guy just trying to learn if there are other options people use.
