Default Well I spray canned my cart.

I have come to the conclusion that I hate painting. Funds are short so I spray canned it. Wall mart $2.88 a can Krylon and Rustolium primer for plastic. I used adhesion promoter and then the primer for plastic. I tried to be careful and used light coats sanding between coats. On one of my coats I grabbed the wrong primer and used dupli color primer. On a few places where the primer that was on there was thin the new primer crinkled. I waited for it to dry and sanded it out. I went and worked on the front and when I was putting on the paint in thin coats it came out great. So I decided to put a coat of Krylon clear on it. I did not like the look on it. The clear did not have the fan tip on the can and it did not have a uniform appearance. I said no problem and put a coat of blue on the top of it. about 30% of it crinkled. .Well I sanded it down and finally got it to look decent. I will stick with Electronics. At least it looks better than it did.

Things learned

Fan tip sprayer is the way to go.
I hate spraying...
Use thin coats
Cheap sand paper is crappy.
When it looks good STOP screwing with it.

A blind man on a galloping horse at midnight might like it
Crappy cell phone pics. It had just rained.

Looks good for a rattle can job. When the paint crinkled you must have used a Lacquer based paint or primer over Enamel. This will usually always crinkle paint.

Looks good from here. Definitely better than it did. And it'll be sweet when you put your racks & roof back on it!

Three things I can tell you

Use adhesion promoter Auto zone here caries it in duplicolor.
Use all the same types of paint.
Use many light coats of primer and paint. Sand between primer with 400 and tack before color.

Do you think flat black will hold up? Would it get shiny when something rubs against it?

ETA BTW where can i get one of those hood ornaments?

You either took crappy pics or did an awesome job with the rattle cans. I can't detect any messups. Good job! More pics when you have it all back together.

If you are on a budget, you might be better off going to Harbor Freight and getting one of those low budget sprayers and then buying some descent paint. I spent about $170.00 on rattle cans to do mine. Then there was tape, pin stripes, tack rags, etc....
