Most all higher quality paints have a flex agent in them now a days. due to all the plastic bumpers and other parts on cars they pretty much had to. They do make plastic specific paint in rattle cans if thats the route your going. Also they make plastic additives for automotive paints to make them even more flexable if thats the direction your going. Depending on what brand of paint you go with will dictate what additive you need due to matching compatable products.

Yes you can use a flex addative if you like but make sure you stick to the ratio in the instructions as it will significantly effect the dry times. I agree with Chudley on this one in that unless you are painting something very flexible "almost like rubber" the addative is not needed, you would be surprised how flexible the new base clear systems are. What type of material are you painting?

The link didn't work, it said it was removed. You won't need the flex additive for a regular golf car body.

i would strongly suggest avoiding a "custom color" like what that guy says it is. That means if you for some reason ever need paint they you are SOL and will almost never get it to match. Also 2 colors of pearl doesnt make it look better ( i have seen them before) it makes it look confused on what color it should be. Another thing is pearls are much harder to spray than a normal color so unless you have quite a bit experience (wich im guessing you dont because you are asking paint questions) i would suggest against it. I dont like single stage paints either because you are removing material to buff/wax/anything to really clean the paint. i would suggest a base coat /clear coat set up in a standard color to avoid any problems .

Chudley is right, stay away from the custom mix enamel, stick with the base/clear system, it is easy to paint, has a protective clear coat for scratches, is easier to fix if you run into issues with applying the basecoat and will last longer. You will only need about a quart and a half of base and a quart for the clear, so it will be fairly inexpensive probably about $125 "depending on what color you pick.
