Re: need help with cleaning vinyl
Clean it with lacquer thinner and you wont need to paint them.

Re: need help with cleaning vinyl
Not sure if it is, "recommended", but I had fantastic results using Softscrub cleaner and a little elbow grease on my white vinyl seats. .....I really should say, Amazing results
Hope that helps, SHMO |

Re: need help with cleaning vinyl
I would like to note that commercial automotive quality vinyl paint, even with excellent prep....never stands up on seats for very long...trim yes...seats no.

Greased Lighting does a great job on mold and dirt but cover your painted surfaces or you will have to rewax.
Please don't waste your time or money on vinyl paints or dyes. I have seen them look good for a week and then start bleeding onto peoples clothes. Seat covers are not that expensive. |

Re: need help with cleaning vinyl
I use good old SOS pads a little water and plenty of elbow grease..... The Lacquer Thinner works but it is tricky, You need an applicator like a scrub pad sponge and the a clear wipe off rag. U must work fast and it is hard to get even results... yes it does melt the vinyl and it can harm the finish on the paint and anything else it touches....SOS is my recommendation.

Re: need help with cleaning vinyl
No disrespect intended, but I have tried all of these approaches. The Softscrub product would be the first item on my list to try. It will cut through major dirt, without being extremely harmful to the material. SOS pads would be my next approach with Lacquer thinner and a very clean towel being my last ditch effort.
