Default Painting Nut & Bolts ?

Don't know if this is the best place to post this but I'm looking for tips on painting nut & bolts so they will have a durable enough finish to tighten with a wrench and not getting scratched up , if you know what I mean . I'm not too fond of the idea of masking and painting hardware after installation . Thanks .

That is going to be a tough one right there.
Even powder coating will chip and crack under a wrench and that stuff is hard as nails.
If you cant go polished stainless then I would suggest paint everything you need painted and install, then cut some different size holes in cardboard to fit over what you painting and installed and hit it with a spray can to touch up.
It's that or an artist or modelers brush for touch up after install.
Let us know what you do and post up some pics!

A friend that works on vintage Thunder birds bakes his small
parts in an old electric oven and it works out well.
I have never had much luck.

I got 2 words for ya..........stainless steel.

Never had any sucess painting bolts other than after they were installed adn that is a giant pain. If you use stainless fasteners then you will never have an issue but be sure to use anti-sieze or they will sometimes gaul together and become nearly impossible to get apart. Don't ask me how I know.

The only way I know is like crash said, touch up after installation.
