How Clean is Clean...Before Priming
Hi:
Pulled body off of 2007 DS. It was dirty, once I got it all washed up, there are still some stains/discoloration that I could not remove. It is a white body so everything shows. If there is something still on there that can hurt the primer adhesion will the scuffing and washing with tar/wax remover do the trick? I just dont want peeling paint in 6 month. Thanks! DO |

Grover
You should use wax and grease remover instead of tar and wax remover. The tar and wax 'DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND YOU USE" can have different chemicals in it that are a bit harsh for pre paint. |

I used all Duplicolor products for my rattle can paint job. Very happy. Holding up great after 1 1/2 years.

You have to make sure that what ever primer you use is compatible with the paint system the painter is going to use.

Re: How Clean is Clean...Before Priming
I would talk to the painter. As a painter I would want to make sure whatever products the customer used is compatible.
