I'm ready for paint and need help

Hey guys I'm ready for paint for my club cart and need lil help lol

I picked the color I'm shooting for and it's gun metal grey :)

And I need help on what kind to get like ONE STAGE ?? or ACRYLIC ENAMEL or???

and what's a decent spay gun to buy

So acrylic enamel is considered a single stage paint. A two stage paint would be base coat clear coat and is polyeurethane. You can get a halfway decent gun for about $75.00 but have seen them for as low as like $25.00 from Harbor Freight and such. Just remember that moisture and paint are enemys so buy one of the little water traps that screw right on the end between the gun and the air hose. They are disposable and work pretty good, they are usually about $8.00.

Ill go with enamel, so does the enamel have clear coat in it ? If not ill buy the gun metal paint in enamel with a can of clear coat

And once I'm done painting what grit of sand paper to wet sand the clear coat to make it shine ?? Sorry my first time doing this

so acrylic enamel is what they call a single stage. You mix hardener and some reducer and you spray. You do not have to clear coat over the single stage as it will have plenty of gloss. Now that's not to say you can't because if you clear over it that will provide extra protection from scratches.. Personally I would use the two stage base coat clearcoat system if you want to have the extra protection of a clearcoat. The base color you only mix with reducer and shoot. You then wait for about 30 minutes or up to 24 hrs if needed and then mix the hardener with the clear and apply. Usually about 30 minutes between coats depending on the clear and usually about 3 coats. As always these are just my own opinions and others will have their own.
