Default G22 Paint Job..

Hey All,,,,,,

I am new here and have been doing a lot of reading,,,, much appreciated..... I am going to be painting my 2004 G22 cart this winter and was wondering about sanding and priming??? If I am correct at understanding things the body is plastic not fiberglass????? So is there any special steps to sanding and priming plastic???? I was planning on using a charcoal carbon fiber color base coat clear coat system...... I have all winter to work on this project,,,, we will see how it goes (not a show paint job) just a good paint job done at home....... would you paint the fender flares the same color or leave them black as purchased????

Thanks in advance......

Hi there, I just did my 07 club car after watching some great videos on YouTube. Light sand and wipe down with thinners, no primer required with some paints, try a test area first. And yes plastic not fibreglass.

there is a sticky at the top of the paint and bodywork section called prep work for painting plastic bodies. Try that and we can answer more questions as you have them.

Thanks for the replies,,,,, very helpful.... Now I have found something else to question..... on the rear body there are some snaps held on with pop rivets,,,, if I remove them what would be a good product for filling these holes????? Fiberglass????? I was thinking bondo would just fall out from shrinking and vibration with time/years of use.....

Just me, but I would use JB Weld (the one just for plastic).
