MRM - You can use oil base enamal with great results. However, you must treat the substrait with a mold release cleaner before the under coat is applied. You may want to add some flex agant to the paint/clear so it doesn't chip on you from rough handling (like that ever happens on a buggy). You can search the web for proper proceedures for painting plastics.

Good luck

Mike

adhesion promoter is a must on plastics else it'll crack, peek, flake...

You are 100% correct Sir! Without using an adhesion promoter and removing the mold release from the substrate, you might as well consider the great looking paint job a flop as you will soon discover when it starts to cure...

If you read the thread - we're talking about a guy wanting to shoot saftey yellow from a gallon jug of paint that he already has. You are all correct, but I don't think a custom airbrush paintjob is the goal on this one...

Most plasticmolders don't use mold release agent, child water to harden plastic, then eject pins, release agents cause molding trouble whith get good flow of homoginized plastic. Would put ripples in the parts due to uneven flow rate.
