Default Stencil and paint finishing

I have completely sanded my G-14 to the base materials. Shot Adhesion promoter -3 coats, a couple coats of Rustoleum filler Primer and liad 4-5 coats of base Rustoleum Gloss Black Automotive paint. Paint has cured 7-10 days. Now am looking to add stencil work to this. Plan is to wet sand after all stencils are sprayed on to the cart to get rid of any over spray and even out the paint. Do I need to buff the color back out before clearing it. Or simply clear coat, wet sand and then buff the shine back. Novice painter just looking for solid advise. I am using all rustoleum products from start to finish. Spoke with Rustoleum to enusre each product was compatible.

Well Here are some various pics. This cart was stripped all the way to the bare frame. Had some frame work done and painted. New clutches, motor mounts, shocks, brakes, rims, tires, dash, lighting, stereo and various other items. All in all got about 4 weekends in labor. Hope the pics attach correctly.

Absolutely awesome! Looks really good but in the pictures more charcoal than black. How did you like working with the Rustoleum. Was your garage heated during the whole paint process? Very nice work.

Garage maintained between 75-80 degrees. Paint process was good, but horrible drying time. Trying to use stencils to add a blue tribal art design but cannot find anything that will not pull up paint after 7-10 days. Paint still very soft to the touch. Still trying to figure out if I should wet sand, rub coumpound and then clear or simply clear it and then buff it out. Would like to wetsand to get orange peel effect out of base and then clear. Just not sure if it will destroy base coat or not

Almost sounds like a hardener issue.....even in cold weather that paint shouldn't be "soft" to the touch, you may have issues from here out sir.......sorry.....it looks like a very good application job

Looking really good!!! Really like the blue frame. You won't want to get it dirty when your finished.

Let it sit for about another week with some heat on in the garage or wherever you have it. Lay on your stencils or graphics or whatever they are "not sure what you mean by stencil". After that you can clear over it . Now with rattle cans it may be very hard to get it to where you don't feel any edges because the rattle can paint is so thin. Usually you would shoot 3 or 4 coats of clear then wet sand the cart to where you can't feel the edges and the go back and put 3 more coats of clear on and then wet sand and buff. But like I said be very carefull sanding with rattle can clear because you don't want to break through into your graphics.
