gears from vc

hi i.m wondering what people think of the 8 to 1 gear ratio gears sold at vc i know the clones run the oposit direction as the stock club car engines therefor reverse is 17 to 1 forward 13 to 1 but i.m thinking i.m gonna run 12x24'' tires wich will help but 17 to 1 do you think it,s to much tork not enough speed?

I had one running backwards it had no speed but torch like crazy

Stock clone runs around 31mph on 22s with 13:1 yamaha trans and valve floats, runs around 38 so far with HD springs and 1.3:1 high ratio rockers (and header, timing key, cut/ported head, etc). I think it has 40mph (all gps speeds) in it with the new duster clutch once its dialed in. The yamaha also runs 0.9:1 overdrive so its really a 11:1 final ratio but most carts do the same.
