Default clone engine relay?

Picked up a 5 pin relay from pepboys. Now what do I need to keep in the cart as to the old ignitor still needed? I want to do the pedal start I seen in one thread a detailed wiring info but can't find it upon searching. P.s there's a ton of threads on clones. Why no stickys on how to wire it up? Any help would be appreciated. Yamaha g2 vc 460

What the relay does is it will allow you to wire your pedal kill switch into the clone ignition kill. If you do a search there is a thread here with a wire schematic.

I've searched but honestly there's a ton of threads and I can't find the schematic . Do I need the stock ignitor for the clone or can i pull it out?

sho 305's posting on 3/24/14 called "some wiring??? On my vc clone swap" lists how to wire the 5 pin to a clone.I had to go to my old printed out down load to find the words to get this to come up. Maybe Someone with more BGW know how will post a better way to get to this.Maybe even a sticky on this would help guys doing clone swaps.

#30 & 87a should be connected at rest. Wire your clone kill wire on one and engine block ground on the other. 4 pin relay will not have 87a and not be able to wire this way. Now the engine is 'killed' all the time because the kill wire is grounded.

Now you want the relay to turn on with the pedal and 'un-kill' the clone. All you need is find the hot wire from pedal its white/red on a G9 and iirc also G2. It goes to the coil and ignitor and start solenoid. Tap in that hot wire and use a battery ground on the other side of the relay to make it work (#85 & 86). It should work either way pos or neg wiring. I used the white/red for the stock coil, taped up the other plugs and left them.

Now if you need to recoil start the engine you can simply unplug the relay (if you spend another $3 for the plug and harness) and the engine will run all the time. If you use wire connectors just pull the one to the kill wire or the ground for kill (30 or 87a).

BRAVO slo! Just got back from a SHORT drive in my cart here on the island. It had not been started at all since my clone in the sun run back on 12/27/14.I did move the choke lever under the seat but the engine fired right up.I also did notice the exhaust note is very quiet. I did not have the engine back cover on and heard most of the sound produced seems to be the crankcase vent which I have not done anything with.Things are a little busy right in the carb and rear shock area.Still too cold to play with disc brakes or lift kit.

A note on this, early driving with the clone the GF decided to turn on my head lights and poof the cart went dead.I then simply removed the relay from the harness pulled the started handle on the clone and drove home.Later I discovered water had shorted a headlight connection.

Its a good thing to know to get you home, the clone requires no power to run.

Now i got the motor in and test ran it yesterday around the neighborhood I'm considering it would be a little easier if the cart just stayed on rather then pedal start. Sometimes it's a lil difficult starting up so how can I hook it up to start and stop by the key?
