Default Predator 13 hp in g1 golf cart questions

Hello and thanks in advance for the help. I am planning to put the 13 hp motor from harbor freight in my cart (kinda it's going to be a sawmill but I think that's irrelevant). I've read all through this forum, but I still have a few questions:
Once the shaft of clone motor is adapted to fit the clutch;
Do you still use the solenoids and starter/generator to run to the clone motor to start the engine? Or do you bypass this somehow?
What makes the clutch engage to increase/decrease speed? Just the throttle speed?

Are you going to use the electric starter on the clone? Or will you use the pedal to start and stop it? Yes, the RPM of the clutch will open and close it.

Thanks so much for your reply! I guess I will use the electric start on the clone. I don't see a reason to use pedal because it's not a golf cart but a sawmill. I will just adjust the throttle on the clone for my speed. My clutch is in pretty bad shape because i still can't get it off the g1 engine. Could I get any clutch that holds the same size belt to work for my purposes? Thanks again!

You don't need the belt or pulley if you use the clone starter, but many keep it because the starter/generator has 15a of charging and the clone has 3a. If you start/stop a lot it does not charge enough.

You need a puller or make one, that is only way to get them off.

You can get a different clutch for a G1/2/9 some newer than that, all will work. You can get a 780 comet also. Its a 30 mm taper yamaha cart clutch.

The primary clutch on the engine engages and shifts with more rpm, the secondary on the trans reacts to load and makes it rev harder under load and lets rpm fall and shift to more speed under light loads.

Thanks sho! I got a puller that will fit around the back of the clutch (where the belt from starter goes) but it just breaks the backside of the clutch ( which I don't guess I need if I don't use starter/gen.) but I have tried putting pressure and hitting the puller with a hammer. No success.. Any ideas? Thanks again!

The puller that you tried to use is not the correct one. You need a yamaha clutch puller bolt. Specifically designed to pull yamaha clutches G1/G22 off the crank. I guess it's too late now.

in the process of trying to pull the clutch (with wrong puller) we also got a rod stuck in the crankshaft and couldnt get it out. Took to the local golf cart place and the man hit the side of the clutch shaft with a heavy hammer and about 4 or 5 hits later it came loose. another lesson learned!! thanks for all the help. Oh in case you were wondering where I came in........... Im the brains of this project and georgia088 , well I still havent figured out what part he is.

Default Predator 13 hp in g1 golf cart questions

Here is a picture of sawmill before I pulled motor off and got clone:

The blade will run around the tires.
I have ordered the tapered clutch adapter. However, I didn't realize I would need a much longer drive belt than the stock g1 drive belt. I am hoping that I can find a 1 3/16 x 48ish or longer drive belt at the local golf cart store, but I'm not sure. I think there is one about this size that goes on a club car caryall xrt1500. Any ideas? Will this work?
Also, I am not planning on cutting the drive shaft off of the clone motor. I know there are differing opinions about whether the clutch being mounted out that far would damage the motor. I feel like, after reading several opinions, the motor is designed for many other applications (pumps, pulleys Etc.). In these applications they would be mounted at the end of the crank shaft. Has anyone had any problems with the clutch being mounted on the clone motor without cutting the shaft?
Thanks!
