Default Predator 420cc 13hp Swap

Help. I bought a golf cart with a HF Greyhound 13HP engine in it. It also had a club car primary clutch on it. I replaced the engine with the HF Predator 13HP engine. I also ordered the exact same Club Car primary clutch thinking that it would be similar exchange. However after ordering both new parts I realized the drive shaft on the predator is .605" longer than the drive shaft on the Greyhound. Does anyone have any suggestions aside from taking the engine apart and taking the drive shaft to a machine shop. I had no problems swapping engines and taking the ignition switch off the motor and extending the wires to the front of the cart to start the motor from the dash of the golf car. I just don't have the time or expertise to take a brand new engine apart to have the shaft redone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cut it in place. Keep it from getting too hot. I use an angle-grinder with the engine running.

Is he going to have to make the hole in the crankshaft deeper?

If they followed Honda print, it should be fine.

Little over half inch, check how much thread is in there but I doubt you would have to do anything. Your bolt may bottom out, you might be able to tap it deeper or drill some and tap more would be the 'right' way to do it. The crank is not hard there, you can cut them with a hacksaw and elbow grease if you want.

I cut my harbor fright predator 420cc shaft down with a bandsaw the. Drilled and tapped the end of the shaft deeper using a hand/pistol drill. The thread size on mine was 3/8-24 if I remember right. Also the shaft on the predator motor has a str8 1" shaft the club car clutch is for a tapered shaft. I had to get a taper adapter to use the factory tapered club car clutch on the predator motor which has the str8 shaft. It was 40-50 bucks from carts parts plus when I bought it. Think I saw it the other day for 40 on vegas carts website too.

Had the same thing on my yami G9, I cut it with a big air grinder with a cutoff wheel on it. Put tape around it and follow the tape if you cut that way. I drilled it first so I could follow the clone hole and keep it straighter, then cut it. Think my clone was smaller than the 3/8 fine. I was surprised yami used that size. So I drilled the clone size then again for the 3/8 tap size.

I watched my coworker start an engine and just hold a hacksaw against the crank while it was running. Cut right thru it nice and straight without a drop of sweat LOL

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the guidance. I have really debated cutting the shaft. I kind of thinking about selling the club car clutch and just ordering the comet 780 clutch with the 1" bore hole. I would love to hear your thoughts on that clutch?
