Re: Club Car 420 swap
Lots of choices and ways to do it. You should have the same clutch I started out with. I would change it out for a newer one. Whether you go factory or aftermarket is your choice. I used a late model Club Car stock clutch because I could get it thru my work at cost and that saved me at least $150....

No, driven clutch should work fine even with newer drive clutch.

Re: Club Car 420 swap
You should have a steel secondary clutch. Stock belt for a later model CC and clutch will work.

Re: Club Car 420 swap
I went ahead and ordered a crank adaptor to run the factory clutch.

Re: Club Car 420 swap
Thats good, but the 1985 clutch doesn't have a center roller for the belt to slip on if you want to have the engine idle when you're not moving. If you're setting it up to run like a normal golf cart, start when step on the gas and quit when you stop then you'll be fine.

Re: Club Car 420 swap
I think any CC newer than 88 had a center roller. This one would work.
