Default best pulse line placement?

What's the best spot for the pulse line. I have it off the carb manifold but it doesn't put out as good as the valve cover hole I had in my old one. What's the best way to drill out the cover? There looks to be a two way flap in it. Do you drill through it on the side maybe?

When I had my clone I had it running to the spacer in between the carb and block. I couldn't even tell you how many times It ran out of gas. The only time I could get a decent pulse was when the carb plate was closed. I later drilled a hole in the valve cover and epoxied a 1/4 barb in it. Worked good. I would drill it on the top left. Make sure you go all the way through.

I put mine in the side almost over the exhaust. Its the center spot the partition is against the outside. I bought a 1/8npt to barb fitting, the tap drill for that is not that big, just screw it in carefully. I put some permatex on it iirc.

The other clone I did has the spacer pulse. Once it came off and pumped fuel all over the place. I don't really like it and will convert it some day.

Mine is in the adapter plate between the carb and block. Has worked perfect for me since day one. Weird...
