Default G9 fuel pump delivering gas up vacumn line to carb 420 clone

Guys, I just started her up *420 clone in G9..and raw fuel comes up vacumn line...do I need to replicate the stock Yamaha vacuum check valve to valve cover breather on the Harbor Freight motor? and the small "tee" into vac line from fuel pump?
2.) any quick way to drag and drop photos into my text?

I have the vegascarts intake spacer with a fuel return line to the top of the tank. That has worked flawlessly for me.Use the valve cover vent as a breather with a hose out past transaxle.

raydhd...not quite "seeing" that?
I drilled my stock spacer and have a 3/16's brass tube with a 3/16's rubber line running to the vacuum tit on the g9 fuel pump. my carb connects to the other "tit" *outlet of the pump... From my understanding, the pump operates off the fluttering *piston down and up pressures at the valve cover vent....so my solid vacuum does not give the "flutter"...hence I am drawing fuel some how thru the pumps vac tit? I can look at the stock G9 motor and it appears that a small "tee" is inserted between the fuel line and the stock carb and the third "tee" goes to the vacuum check valve at the valve cover ...hence flutter pulling fuel from the fuel pump. It looks like the stock setup vacuum tit on the fuel pump goes "elsewhere" cuz the stock carb and insulator have no vacuum tit.....anywhere./??? A picture raydhd? please..

I am confused at what you are doing so I will list my set up. line #1 goes from fuel tank to fuel pump inlet. line #2 goes from pump outlet to TEE # 3 returns to fuel tank from TEE. line# 4 goes from TEE to carb fuel inlet. line # 5 goes from carb pulse spacer to fuel pump vacuum inlet. Valve cover vented to atmosphere.

Thank you raydhd for answering so quikly...I am needing photos of your wonderful work.....please.. I cannot "think" this out without a photo or two.. *btw, I also need to understand how photos are brought to our pages here? Thank you guys again for your patience. (fer instance, I do not have a "return line" to my tank?) So your photos would be beyond helpful. You can email me ok? martyisaverb@cruzio.com.

I tried taking pics of my system but everything is too installed to see much.Go to vegascarts.com and look in yamaha G2-14 engine kit.At the bottom of the page is an installation guide.Scroll down to page 19.There is a color coded pic of the fuel pump with directions. Also read page 3 about fuel return line.

If you are on the pulse line and not the fuel line, no fuel should come out of that no matter what you do. It can have slight vacuum or pressure and the pulse will still make it pump. I think your pump needs rebuild or you have the fuel line no the pulse, from the pump. Or buy a different pump.

Check out my G9 build. I stalled on the build and put it on the back burner for now. but I'll pick it back up soon to get it finished. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/clone...has-begun.html and here is a link to vegas carts how to install. http://vegascarts.proboards.com/boar...a-1990-hyundai

The engine sucks in the intake charge and the valve closes until the next intake two revolutions later, this is what generates the pulse in the intake and makes the pump work. The engine sucks harder with closed throttle so the pulse may be stronger at idle, but it still gets a pulse at higher rpm.

Into the crankcase or valve cover it gets a pulse from the piston bottom changing pressure every revolution.

If you get fuel through the pulse line it means your pump diaphragm is broken, or you mistakenly have the fuel supply line that should go to the carb. Stock yami pump iirc the pulse is on the top of the pump but verify that I'm not looking at it.

The one way valve on the side of a stock G2/9 cylinder in the pulse line I am not sure why its there but the theory I have is that it bleeds the pulse off back to the rocker cover which is vented to the airbox. The reason for this is to clear oil from the pulse line as it runs, the valve causes it to circulate air up the tube. The short line to the pump goes down so the oil would drain back to the line and get taken away. I could not find anything in the manual but after looking at it this is what I come up with. Actually the valve dictates the direction of flow I thought its up but not positive. You are supposed to make sure you put it in the way it came out, they should be cleaned with carb clean if they have an issue.

I had this happen once when rerouting the fuel and vacuum lines. I got one of the three lines mixed up and it poured a ton of gas in the valve cover. With the spark plug out and the engine turning it would spay fuel out like a pump up sprayer.
