Re: Post 1000
Sure, just come in here and show off like your are special or something!
Just kidding Sounds like you had a lot of fun there, wish I could get that many miles on. Not sure why I have so many posts here, maybe I have a golf cart ghost in the house that posts while I'm sleeping..... I would never spend that much time on here, I wont admit to being on here like 10 yrs lol and BU before they fell apart. |

Ray...how are you calculating the miles on your cart? I'd be interested in seeing how may miles I put on mine next camp season.

Re: Post 1000
I have had an hour meter since early on and later added the cheapo bike speedo odometer. But the 1800 number is derived from the hour meter hours times 20. I run between 20 to 25 mph on my tours and have logged 90 plus hours this season. So the 1800 would be the minimum I have traveled.I have close to 600 on the odometer that I added late in the season. So next season I will have an exact number providing the cheapo speedo continues to operate. That was really a neat item for the $4.80 it cost.

I have to get one of those speedos! Keep forgetting to order one, good winter project. That was a great idea.

Re: Post 1000
That 90 hour figure was at my last oil change.Looked at the hour meter today and I am now at 98.9 hours this year.If this nice weather keeps up I guess I will cross the 100 hour mark. The dog loves it, the GF loves it, and I love it.Love the island when the weather is good.

Re: Post 1000
A recent post of a cart getting 15mpg and me using mine for 100 hours plus had me question how much fuel did I use? To be truthful I don't know exactly. But I am pretty sure I bought no more than 10 five gallon cans of fuel.Lets say I used 1 gallon in my power mower and 4 gallons in my tractor, that leaves 45 gallons for my golf cart.So with my 2000 miles traveled with 45 gallons used that works out to 44.44 mpg. This is interesting because if some asked what is the gas mileage on that thing? I would have replied 40-50 mpg would be my guess.Next year I will take note of fuel used.

Re: Post 1000
Further thought brought out more data.May-september 5 months at 4.3 weeks per month = 21 weeks.I certainly don't fill the can every other week. That brings me down to 7 cans which is probably right on.This now works out to 30 gallons for 2000 miles ='s 66 mpg.
