It may be that the fiberglass has been cut down by the previous owner (reason for header not clearing seat), as the cart is a fully enclosed, hand made metal body CJ2 "M38" hard top Jeep that was built around 30 years ago by a metal worker. Will' get it cut and re-welded next week to clear. Just ordered a Jakes Long Travel Kit as well as some 27x7.5x14 Super Swampers (https://www.tirerecappers.com/tires/...d-mega-mud-mt/)... Starting to turn into a big money pit!

Will check the valve lash and order a new belt, any better belts out their rather than the one that comes with the Vegas carts kit?

You can use header wrap on the pipe to keep the heat down under the seat. You can also use a heat shield.

Belts? I'm sure that Vegas Carts belts are good, but if you want HD, try to find one that's made with Kevlar and is cogged. Those seem to be the heaviest belts made. Might be expensive. If you solve the heat issue and get a new standard belt, you will likely be okay. I've never used anything but a standard belt and have had no troubles.

Built a heat shield onto the bottom of the seat and wrapped the header prior to leaving last week. I was asking about the belt as I'm going to order another one for assurance regardless, as the Disney trip it just went on was the first time we really had a chance to test the new engine assembly. Possibly going to run a YZF450 muffler/silencer after the original walker and test that out.

Will look over the cart this weekend and diagnose the main problem.

Thanks for the information again!

I got mine from CPP, its a kevlar HD belt and double cogged. Its an Erlandson belt, which is changed to Gboost now I guess. Its a great belt.

Was looking for a starter belt, not a drive belt, but thank you for the help. I am running the Comet clutch and HD rear clutch assembly from VC, factory generator.

Prob should have specified that in your thread. Most of us key in on the drive belt, since that's the one that would be the most problematic and have the most options.

Not really any options for starger/gen belt. Just get a good quality one. I always use Gates belts. Goodyear is also good.

Well, I was discussing starting issues from the starter generator. Why would that have anything to do with the brand new drive belt?

I do like the optional drive belts that Sho provided however, they seem like an upgrade over the VC.

Vegas carts first used a regular V belt later switched to a cogged one.I presently have the cogged ax-32 in with an extension on the S/G bracket to get more space between the S/G and the engine.

I don't know, I bought the kevlar drive belt at CPP a couple years ago maybe 3. I also got a matching cogged starter/gen belt from them. The drive belt I think is stock yamaha G9 size however I think it is 1 1/4 wide not 1 3/16....or so it seems. I built my clone install to fit the stock belts. I have the erlandson number but not here on me.
