Help in need of a clutch!
Hey everybody,
It's been awhile since I've been here glad to see everybody's doing good I'm in need of a little experience with gas motors. Attached you will see pictures of my new car and the motor that it will be receiving. Problem is the clutch that I have will not work it is for a tapered shaft and I need a 1 inch straight shaft clutch. Where could I find a clutch that will work . Thanks in advance you guys are the best. |

No problem. I know Vegas Carts and CPP carries them and both are good to work with.

Re: Help in need of a clutch!
Yeah, 780 as long as your HP level isn't too high. They say up to 20hp on those, but I'm sure you can push the limit a little. For the 23hp Briggs Vanguard I know they recommend the Rapid Response clutch. It's good for up to 100 hp. It's a bit larger and more expensive, but I hear it's worth it.

Re: Help in need of a clutch!
You can use an adapter on a 1" shaft to fit a golf cart taper clutch, but not usually done on a 20hp or more twin as the stock GC clutch may not be tuned that well for it. It works ok on a smaller clone, you have to cut the crank shorter also. Most with twins swaps they will buy a 1" clutch (assuming you have a 1" motor) to work better with it. You can't tune most stock clutches so they don't work as well on the trail so an aftermarket clutch will get more power to the ground, and that is why you do a swap right? I modded my stock clutch and it helped a little, but once I modded the clone and needed to change shift rpm it was not cooperating.
