Default G-9 extendaframe!!!!!

I bought the Harbor Freight big block 20 HP clone. Wont fit in my G-9 frame. I am not a bad welder so the only conclusion I come to is extending the frame. Looks a little tricky to me. Any of you good fabricators put me on the right track? How to, where to and the like. Moving the back end ( axle secondary, differential ) back about 6 inches would make life great! Any suggestions for the simplest and best way for a back yard hack?

That engine must be much larger than a Vanguard, I know many here who have a G9 with one of those. I'm assuming it's too large front to back? What part of the engine has clearance issues, the exhaust? Pics?

I have extended a G2/G9 swingarm with good success. The worst part about it is taking it all out. I just cut the swing arm, inserted two steel pipes into the tubing, and welded it back up. It really was very easy. I did have to change the drivers side brake cable to a longer one.

However, your shock mounts on the swingarm will most likely need to be relocated or reworked in some way. Moving them back 6" may make them not line up properly. I made a custom lift for the rear on mine and welded tabs to the rear cross member to hold the shocks.

Drop the front mount on the rear end down, then block the shocks accordingly.

Your correct it is too large from front to back. I have a 21 HP Vanny in the G-9 ( yellow one in the pic) Fit perfect. Hey would you send me some pics of your handiwork? I like the idea of the pipes thanks a ton. The shock mounting would be nice to have a pic of also. I really appreciate how you guys help out the hacks like me!!!!

Hey how ya doin!!! Yea thats the one. I looked at it again today. I think cutting the frame and using a pipe as slonomo reccomended. The club car kinda intrigues me though. Do you know a day after you left the rear end axle on my yellow cart broke. Figures I could have used that rear end instead of paying a hundred bucks for an axle. Boy did you have good timing!!! Take care and nice hearing from ya.

Here's a pic, you can see the pipe in the middle. I used galvanized pipe, but I ground off all the galv before welding.
