Club Car 460 install throttle/switch box interference
Here's the deal-- 1993 CC DS, 6 inch lift. Installing the VC 460 with the Vegas carts kit but the carb/intake studs hit the throttle/Microswitch box.
Any reason not to raise the engine up with spacers, or I drop the electrical box? Thanks. |

Modded the box and moved it down.

Re: Club Car 460 install throttle/switch box interference
Some carts have some details you just have to work around. The G9 the airbox is near hitting the shock, I had to cut my crank short as I could to give any room there. The recoil near hits the fuel tank as well. Have a new clutch that is thinner and more room with that now.

Re: Club Car 460 install throttle/switch box interference
Well, I tossed the pieces I cut off. Here is a description of what I did--
The relay/switch/throttle box has two bosses that are cast/molded into the box. These bosses are slotted, allowing a carriage bolt to be slid into them. These carriage bolts attach to a cross member. The cross member is aluminum I-channel. The bottom of the bosses prevent the box from being re-positioned down, as they rest at or near the top surface of the bottom part of the I. Basically, I cut off the bottom of the bosses, then drilled a new mount hole for the inboard mount bolt. For the outboard mount bolt, I riveted in a piece of .060 aluminum, and drilled a hole for the mount bolt. I had to rivet in the aluminum sheet as there is a lightning hole/pass through hole below the existing mount hole. I will try to remember and take a pic before I reassemble everything in that area. |

Sheet aluminum to cover lightnening hole and relocate the hole downward for the throttle box mounting hole.
