Default Help broken axle again!!!!!!

Has anybody had this problem. I have broken now the third drivers side rear axle. It breaks right at the slotted part that fits into the differential. I welded the back up for posi traction per this website years ago. Put the 23 HP non modified Briggs in. When the first one snapped I just wrote it off to things break. When the second one broke I investigated. Found the support that the swing arm mounts to the frame got egged out and sloppy. Repaired that. Now three months later snapped again!! These are a hundred bucks IF you can find them! I don't drive it crazy my son does sometimes but rarely. Everything seems to be straight and tight. Anybody have any ideas and a new axle? Should I go back to the stock non welded up posi?

I have a 25hp non welded Ezgo and it does everything anyplace I ever wanted to go and 4 years later I'm still running the original axles.

Welded diff? Maybe the yami rears aren't as HD as the ezgo's? Anytime you weld the diff it will put more stress on the driveline, especially if you drive it on any kind of pavement. I was never a fan of welding the diff if you have to drive on pavement at all.

If you have broken 3 axles, something is binding. I've never seen an axle break on a cart, but then I've never seen a welded diff either.

I would think the solid diff may be hard on them but generally they don't break. Even with rice rocket motors they don't seem to break. Sure a housing is not bent/damaged? Ezgo usually strip out the hub splines at the wheel I believe it is, and that happens far more often than yami axle problems. But not many people have a welded rear either.

Welded rear on a G2-G9 not a good idea. The rear end can't take it when the wheel gets bound, the briggs just powers through and snaps the axle at the spline. Replace it with a non-welded rear and ride the brakes a bit if you start to get stuck. or find a g16 rear and run a limited slip.

You can also upgrade to a Dana H12 rear. They come in the American Sportworks utv's Dana part number is 012AJ396 and have a factory mechanical locker.

They also came in the 4x2 Cub Cadet Big Country. and lots of other stuff.
